SF Guide: The Riddler

Whether it’s a girls night out, date night, or in todays’ case brunch with a bestie, “The Riddler”, an operation ran and owned by all women, has become one of my favorite go to spots. A chic champagne bar located in Hayes Valley, has over 100 champagnes, a menu that offers charcuterie, cheese platters, cavier and their can’t miss tator tot waffles. If you are torn between whether you should get the prosciutto tator tot waffle or the smoked salmon with caviar, splurge and get both.

Before digging into your main meal, self serve yourself a bowl of popcorn and layer on one or more of their custom created seasonings. Choose from black truffle, chili, cilantro and lime to name just a few. I also have the Riddler to thank for introducing me to CHAMBONG! (beer bong but with Champagne) or order yourself a Joan which is a glass of their cheap house wine filled up to the rim.

Old hollywood interior with gold leaf ceilings, quilted leather booths, white marble countertops, and rich greenery. It’s a small, intimate space even with seating both inside and out, so get there early or make a reservation through open table.
